When was the last time you have listened to life with your eyes closed? Or enjoyed the world around you simply through touch? Do you want to learn how to use your body as a medium to perceive and understand the world, even the artistic world? This is where Mindful Spatial Experiencing comes in.
Imagine being guided through sensory miniatures. You are surrounded with works of art blindfolded, but with your other senses alert. You reach a state where you feel completely still and calm. A state where you can mindfully observe what your senses are telling you. And when you open your eyes, you perceive all that is – anew.
Together with International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana we designed a 2-day Mindful Spatial Experiencing (MSE) workshop “Artwork, Space and MSE”. We used our senses and mindful meditation in motion to experience a whole new world of the 32nd Biennial of Graphic Arts: Birth as Criterion.
We touch, smell and listen to the exhibited works to uncover the sensual side of contemporary art and architecture, which we all too easily overlook. Corporeal reading of art and architecture serves not only to mindfully perceive and understand the artistic world, but also to inform innovative approaches to your own art and creative projects.
“When you reach the end of what you should know, you will be at the beginning of what you should sense.” (Kahlil Gibran).
